In the year 1987, the FM 104.7 was awarded their license to operate a supplementary FM service. The station was assigned the call sign 2ROC and when they were on the air branding call letters of FM 104.7 after they had become an FM station. They were noted for being the first supplementary FM licensed station in Australia.
