Radio "Magic 1278" online

Magic 1278 originated in 1935 under the call letters of 3XY. The radio station known as 3XY was the dominant music radio station for Melbourne, Australia. In the early 1970’s it was very popular amongst the people. It soon started to decline in popularity with the onset of FM radio in Australia. The license was then bought by 3EON and 3Fox, which shut down the radio station known as 3XY and soon started a completely new genre but without much success. Finally, the Greek Media Group bought the station.

The station soon afterwards became known as Magic 1278. It reigns as a very popular radio station in Melbourne, Australia, and will now remain as one of the best-broadcast stations for the people. The station switched frequencies with 3AW on May 1, 2006 and is today broadcasting very loud and clearly. Today Kevin and Jane our reigning hosts of most of the radio broadcast shows and they present well rounded programs. They have a gardening show, cooking show, of course lots of music, and they present community programs where they will even say “Happy Birthday” to your grandchildren. Magic 1278 has become a very popular talk show radio station.
