RadioLIVE is one of the popular news and talkback based radio stations in New Zealand. Based in Auckland, the radio station is owned by MediaWorks. Dedicated mainly to the coverage of news and updates, the station also broadcasts weekend lifestyle features and regular sports based programs.
It is believed by many that the channel came into being in the year 2005. However, the history of RadioLIVE dates back to 1978. This was the year when Radio Pacific station was launched in Auckland. The Radio Pacific Company merged with Radio Otago in 1999 and the newly formed company was re-branded as RadioWorks. The company later became a part of MediaWorks which decided to launch Radio Pacific as RadioLIVE. As a result, RadioLIVE was born in the year 2005 and it has come in competition with many other popular news and talkback networks over all these years.
